(1) According to this Act, the citizenship of Nepal can be given to a person who has obtained the citizenship of Nepal on the basis of descent by mentioning the surname and address of his mother or father.
(2) Irrespective of anything written in sub-section (1), the names and details of both the mother and the father must be entered in the citizenship record.
(3) The gender identity shall also be disclosed as specified in the certificate of Nepali citizenship issued in accordance with this Act.
